Thank you for pitching in for Cancun!

Remember this crazy little postcard?

Three months ago, I begged and pleaded with all of you to help me get to Cancun by liking my postcard on Kiwi Collection's Facebook page. While I didn't end up winning the grand prize of a 4-night stay at one of Kiwi Collection's resorts, I did get enough "likes" to win a $100 Visa giftcard, which I'm happy to report came in the mail yesterday.

So I wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped me win this, not just by liking my postcard but inciting others to do so as well! I will be using this Visa card during my Mexico trip, which is happening in less than two weeks!

I also want to say thanks to my family, who also helped me book this trip with their "donations" to the Cancun fund. We were supposed to be on save mode with our Secret Santa scheme but my sister Chris slipped me a little something "for Cancun." Even my cousin Waxie gave me a great Mexico guidebook to use on this trip (and future ones, I hope!).

Zoe and I are currently obsessing over weather reports and driving directions from our Cancun resort to Chichen Itza. I am also in talks with Camilo at cancunissafe.com to sample some local mezcal! He's got me daydreaming right now about Agave cream, which he describes as similar to Bailey's but "white, coconut flavored, and with a twist of Mezcal." Who knew a quest to devour the mezcal worm could turn so delicious? I doubt there will be a worm in this particular variety, but I will hunt you down, you little sucker!

Again, muchas gracias to you all and stay tuned for the Mexican adventure!

  4. I love the Mayan Riviera. I haven't been to Chichen Itza but I've been to Nohoch Mul and Tulum and LOVED it.
